2pm I'm sitting at home, on my day off, browsing through my emails and what do I get? A surprise email that states that the Tory Burch sale has opened early! I panicked! I wanted to be the first one at the sale so I changed my clothes and ran out of the apt and straight to the train. Once I got to the train I couldn't believe myself, did I really just leave my apt to head into the city for a sale on my day off? Yes, yes I did!

Thank goodness there wasn't a line since it was 90 degrees out. Inside I found some great pieces-lots of tunics and dresses, lots of sparkle and glam. I was very happy I made myself go, but wasn't too keen on the prices. I remember purchasing a tunic in the past for $75 and they were now $145! The shoes and bags were priced the same. The clothing seemed to be the only thing that went up. Totally worth going though.

Registering for a wedding is both fun and stressful. Stressful, since we don't have much room to hoard all the items I want but fun because you get to select all new things for your life together. Also, you have an opportunity to get items you would not ordinarily purchase. For example a Mini Cupcake maker!!! Think of all the parties I can do revolving around cupcakes. It's also a great gift for a housewarming party. Pass the coffee, please.

Fabulous Apartment

I'm not a big fan of the living in the city craze. I like my quiet area in Queens, NY; not too far from the city but not to close to it either. However, when I see such apartments as the one displayed on Curbed, it just gives me the urge to pack up my things and find an apartment on the West side. This weekend I will have to take a trip downtown with my good friend who is coming up from VA. Tom Binns has amazing pieces with glits and glamour. I could totally rock some of these with a plain tee and jeans or perhaps a wedding? =)

3 sample sales in one hour

Today, during my lunch break I ventured out to 3 sample sales: Tracy Reese, Charlotte Ronson & Francine. I have to say I was a bit disappointed on the selections.  I'm glad I saved my cash; Haute Hippie, DVF and Tory Burch coming up...

My first stop was Charlotte Ronson.There was a total of 4 racks. I was more impressed with their shoe selection than their clothing. There were very few pieces in this tiny space. There were about 15 girls at the event when I arrived at 12:10pm. I was out by 12:20pm with nothing in hand.

12:23 I arrived at Tracy Reese. It was described as a must see event, I could not find anything worth looking at. It seemed bare and boring. Perhaps everyone came early and took all the good clothes?

Finally, By Francine. The first time I attended her event was back in November during the Joomi sample sale. I love her pieces. They are so delicate and creative. It is definitely worth taking a look at. I was disappointed but I have to admit I was on a mission for a cute pink dress I saw at her first sale.

BK Flea

FRIDAY: Brooklyn Bargains


I am making more of an effort this summer to branch out and take a good look at Brooklyn. I plan on visiting the museum, scoping the neighborhoods and shop! I've been hearing some fabulous things about flea markets in BK. Friday is the opening of the Greenpoint Flea Market & Bazaar, located in- and outdoors at the Greenpoint Reformed Church.
