I've neglected my blog for quite sometime. We can blame it on life.
Since my last post, my husband and I have purchased a home, started decorating and purchasing things as well as adjusting to the new scenery. We moved from the "city" to a town out in the suburbs. The first week was rough. I was confused about the train schedule and would literally run to the train stop every day. (The train system is not like the subway where you can catch the next one in 6 minutes. Ours runs every 20mins in the AM)
My dog wasn't quite as excited about the backyard and would pee in the house. In addition, she seemed to have hurt her leg from all the stairs. We took her to vet the very next day, the day after our move. Lola's vet is located in our old neighborhood, Astoria. When we got off the highway, Lola began to cry because she thought we were going home. Which only made me sad and begin to cry because I too missed my little apartment. Lola turned out to be fine. We think she may have pulled something and the move made her anxious.
2 months later...The sad feelings began to pass once I was able to familiarize myself with the train, the neighborhood and once I joined the gym. What a difference the gym makes. Although, I miss my gym friends from Astoria. I'm still adjusting to my new gym but I have high hopes.
Lola's discovered the door that leads to the backyard and the window that faces the front. We keep the gate up on the stairs to prevent her from walking up and down while we are not home.
We've painted the house to our liking. We still have a few adjustments to make with the bathrooms but that's a whole different issue. We can't bare the wall to ceiling wallpaper in our half bath but clearly that requires time and money. Summer project/Hubby project.
We really like our neighborhood and love that everything is near by. We're looking forward to summer BBQ's, family gatherings and lots of Vino nights!
Here's a glimpse of our recent adventure.
