My aunt, Tom and I have a ritual of dining once a month at a nice restaurant. This month was At Vermilion which is a latin/indian restaurant. The chef is Next Iron Chef contestant Maneet Chauhan combines the best spices from both the latin and indian world. We started out with shredded duck on mini arepas, blackened shrimp and artichoke pakoras. I had everything but the duck and I have to say it was all AMAZING! As for dinner, I had the banana wrapped sea bass with a coconut broth, lentils and a rice cake. The flavors were fresh and vibrant. I thought latin and indian cuisine would be much too powerful considering the amount of spices already used in the dishes; however, they were surprisingly quite sexy. I would highly recommend that you check out this place.
