Since I'm a Queens girl and know most of the go-to places, I thought I'd take the time out and share with you some of my favorite places in Astoria. There are so many but I'll select a few for now:
Best French Bakery: Cannelle Patisserie - I love their macarons and tarts.
Best Brunch spot: Cafe Bar and Flo - Get the frappé, some eggs and hang out with your girls for hours.
Best Italian Bakery: La Guli - get the Gelato or Rainbow Cookies
Best Spanish Fusion: La Vuelta Bistro - The shrimp dish is AWESOME! They ran out on my birthday and I was so sad. I even pulled the line "but it's my birthday" - needless to say, it didn't matter. lol
Best Thai: Thai Elephant - get the Chicken Panang or Pad See Ew
Best Sushi: Watawa Sushi - Everything is really good
Best French Bistro: Bistro 33 - try the lobster mac and cheese, chocolate martini or the bread pudding
Best Greek: Agnati, Stamatis, Omonia Cafe, Mezzo Mezzo (great band!), Artopolis (cookies are pretty close to my future in-laws')
Best Seafood: Greek Captain and Taverna Kyclades
Best Italian: Punta Dura (we had our engagement party here) =)

ReplyDeleteI have to say that Mojave rivals Cafe Bar for brunch but NOTHING beats CB's Cypriot Breakfast.
Best cupcake (or Bakery in general): Martha's on Ditmars
Best Mojito: Fatty's Cafe on Ditmars.
